📌 Essential Preparations & Details

  • Gear Up: Sturdy sports shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a reliable night flashlight.
  • Safety Assurance: You must carry your valid travel insurance card.
  • Desert Comfort: Bring your preferred mosquito spray.
  • Age Range: Suitable for adventurers aged 15 to 65. (Special offer for those over 65!).
  • Fellow Travelers: A minimum of five (5) participants is required per trip.
  • Plan Ahead: Bookings are required at least one month before your desired trip date (payment on time).
  • Identification: Send clear passport photos when booking.
  • Option for self drive on your own car upon request including 3 person per permission (call the owner, El-Pharaoh) for details.

Important Logistics: A 10% service tip is appreciated for the team. For corporate bookings, guides are not provided. We can arrange airport transfers upon request (airport to airport). This journey starts from Ras Shetan (Nuweiba) and concludes in Cairo. Please be aware that communication and internet access are extremely limited or non-existent in most areas along the route.

🗺️ Retracing Sacred Steps: Daily Itinerary (Ras Shetan to Cairo)

Day 1 Arrival & Coastal Charm

Time: ~6 AM Start (Arrival/Meetup)

Begin your adventure at Ras Shaitan, Nuweiba. Enjoy an Intercontinental breakfast overlooking the stunning Gulf coast. Settle in, enjoy healthy Bedouin snacks, and anticipate a traditional Lamb dinner.

Overnight: Camp at Ras Shaitan.

Day 2 Coastal Paths & Ancient Routes

Departure: 6 AM (4×4 Cars)

Depart Ras Shaitan towards Dahab, visiting Tel al-Mashraba. Continue through Wadi Ljebi, exploring Nabataean laws and trade routes. Reach Jabal al-Maktoub and proceed to Ain Hadra.

Overnight: Camp at Ain Hadra.

Day 3 Wadis, Springs & Sunset Views

Departure: 6 AM (4×4 Cars)

Journey from Ain Hadra to Wadi Ghazala. Discover Ain Farqata and Al-Zaraniq. Ascend Al-Ajarmiya for potentially the best sunset view over Serbal Mountain. Enjoy Bedouin snacks en route and a traditional Lamb dinner.

Overnight: Camp at Wadi Sudud (Mega Catherine).

Day 4 Colored Canyons & Mountain Prep

Departure: 6 AM (4×4 Cars)

Depart Wadi Sudud to visit the vibrant Colored Mountain. Enjoy Intercontinental breakfast and healthy Bedouin snacks. Savor a traditional Lamb dinner with soft drinks and Bedouin beverages (coffee, tea, herbs).

Evening: Prepare for the sacred ascent of Mount Moses (starting ~2 AM).
Overnight: Camp at Wadi Sudud (Mega Catherine).

Day 5 Summit Descent & Holy Valley

Time: ~8 AM Activities Start

Descend from Mount Moses after witnessing the sunrise. Enjoy breakfast at Fox Camp. Explore the profound landmarks of the Holy Valley of Tuwa: Shrine of Prophet Aaron, Golden Calf site, Generation of Transfiguration, Church of Skulls, Holy Burning Bush, Well of Moses, Church of the Transfiguration, Fatimid Mosque, Holy Monastery’s Relics Exhibition, and Panorama of the Transfiguration.

Overnight: Return to camp at Wadi (Mega Cathrine).

Day 6 Springs of Moses & Plains of Rest

Departure: 8 AM (4×4 Cars)

Move from Wadi Suddud through Wadi al-Arba’in to Hajar Musa (the 12 springs). Visit the Hajar Musa Church and see Wadi al-Raha (Plain of Rest).

Overnight: Return to camp at Wadi (Mega Cathrine).

Day 7 Mountain Passes & Village Life

Departure: 8 AM (4×4 Cars)

Depart Wadi Sudud, traveling via Naqb Abu Sila and Naqb Al Hawa, enjoying views of Mount Sarbal. Visit Sheikh Awad village in Wadi Gharba. Proceed towards Abu Talib.

Overnight: Camp in Abu-Talib.

Day 8 Ancient Monasteries & Turquoise Mines

Departure: 6 AM (4×4 Cars)

Journey from Abu-Talib through Wadi Islaf and Wadi Al Joufah, seeing Mount Al Tahoun, Deir Al Muhradh, and Deir Al Banat. Explore the turquoise mines area near Mount Al Inglizi and view the Pharaoh’s tablet. Visit the inscriptions at Wadi Al Maktab. Enjoy Bedouin snacks and a traditional Lamb dinner.

Overnight: Camp in Wadi Al Maghara.

Day 9 Inscriptions & Vast Plateaus

Departure: 6 AM (4×4 Cars)

Depart Wadi Al Maghara, passing through Wadi Al Maktab and Wadi Al-Khamirat. Enjoy healthy Bedouin snacks. Traverse Al Cliff, Al Ghoroud, and Al Mahjar as you move onto the expansive Al Tih Plateau. Relish a traditional Lamb dinner.

Overnight: Camp in Wadi Gharandal.

Day 10 Temple of Hathor & Sunset Views

Departure: 8 AM (4×4 Cars)

Explore from Wadi Gharandal to the ancient Temple of Serabit el-Khadim, dedicated to the Goddess Hathor (Lady of Turquoise), situated 1200m above sea level. Enjoy Bedouin snacks. Return to a viewpoint to witness the image of Ramses reclining at sunset. A final traditional Lamb dinner awaits.

Note: The Exodus Valley welcomes you for the first time! Expect surprises in Gharandal Canyon.
Overnight: Camp in Wadi Gharandal.

Day 11 Homeward Bound via Historic Sites

Departure: 8 AM (By Bus)

Enjoy a final Intercontinental breakfast overlooking Wadi Gharandal. Depart by air-conditioned bus towards Cairo. En route, pass Pharaoh’s Baths (reopening soon), Sanctuary of Moses (12 Wells), view the Suez Canal Tunnel, Tall El-Maskhouta (Ismailia), San El-Hagar, and Tall Basta (Sharqia Governorate).

Arrival: Return to Cairo.
